Dana has worked in the restaurant industry since 2003 as a server and bartender. Dana has been denied breaks, has not received his full tips and has not been paid for all the hours he’s worked. These are all illegal and forms of wage theft. Wage theft often may go unreported for fear of retaliation or loss of a job. Like Dana, many workers also work back-to-back shifts with little rest. This is known as clopening or unfair scheduling which causes a hazardous environment for both workers and the general public.
