Andrea Slater is committed to improving living and working conditions for marginalized populations including oppressed nationals and has effectively built coalitions within the private and public sector. Andrea has facilitated collaborative efforts to advance racial and economic justice throughout the state and has established key relationships within labor, corporate and community-based organizations. She is a mother of three and aims to bring a better world for future generations. Her children have been spotted on the campaign trail with her over the years and she takes great pride in their desire to advance change through political engagement.
After working many years on social justice based campaigns in CA, she served as the Regional Field Director of the Obama ’08 primary campaign in Los Angeles County before deciding to complete her education in Political Science and History at UCLA. Andrea then earned her Masters of Public Policy from UC, Irvine. Since graduation, she has used her newly acquired skills to advance justice, promoting socio-economic equity among both public housing residents and diversity among elected officials working with the Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco, and campaign finance reform organizations such as California Clean Money Campaign and CA Common Cause.
